69 Trees on 11 Square Meter

I have a way of doing things that people frown upon. Like cutting a tree down to 12 inch high in Spring, pop it into a planter bag, move it somewhere else and plant 69 of them on 11 square meters.

The Belgian Fence managed to sooth the industrial starkness of the corrugated iron fence. Plus, inter-planted with dwarf English Lavenders. And saffron corms.

Ever thought that it would be a myth to grow your own saffron? That the garden center and TradeMe seller is just trying to make a quick buck selling saffron corms?

Mine flowered for the first time after 3 years. That’s gold that grew out of the ground.

The rest of the planter bags have been moved up front now that the apples have been planted.

Italian Alder grown from seed.

Really good size Autumn Raspberries. These guys consumed a lot of coffee grounds!

Two other plants are growing on this tree. One of them is lancewood.

Someone must have pea’d on this tree.

I finally figured out how to tell time with the sun dial. It is actually quite accurate!

What’s happening next? I’ve got some large pebbles on the back of the truck to be spread onto the Belgian Fence to stop Caesar from burying his bones in there. Then I’ve got to tidy up the garage to park the car and the truck in there over the colder period of the year. And there’s also more landscaping to do on the stonefruit patch. Get that strip of grass going all the way along the driveway. Resowing to finer grass is part of the plan as well.

Come again next week, might have had some progress.
